On March 26th, 2011, disc golfers came together for a great cause. The inaugural "Let’s Throw Together" charity doubles tournament was held to benefit the Arthritis Foundation. The amount of support we received for this event was amazing. A full field of 72 players came out and braved the cold, along with some spectators. After everyone enjoyed their free bagels from Bagel Works in Bel Air, (also provided were fruits, coffee, and juices), we kicked things off with a ceremonial first throw by Lisa Mauti, VP of Communications for the MD Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation and Arrianna May, a child afflicted with junior rheumatoid arthritis. After Round 1, team Ba Na Na checked in with a hot round of 47. During the lunch break we had a Ring of Fire competition, where we gave away some Scorpio Disc Golf and Dead Dogs swag. After Round 2 we had a Closest To Pin contest for a DGA Mach Lite portable basket while scores were being calculated. Team Paul L2 fought back with a hot round of their own, shooting a 43 to take the lead. Then, more Ring of Fire to finish out the day.
